DESCRIPTION:Design a bookmark around the theme “The Loudest Library.” The bookmark contest form is available here\, on the library website and at the Chinn Park Mini Library or Montclair Library. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe contest runs from January 2 to March 12\, 2026. \nThe bookmarks of the first-place winners (one for each grade\, K through 5) and the grand prize winner’s bookmark will be printed and available at the library in early summer.\nThe Grand Prize Winner will also receive an autographed copy of “Orson and the World’s Loudest Library” by local author Laura Gehl.\nPrizes will be awarded at the Talking to the Author presentation at Montclair Library on Saturday\, April 11th at 2:00 p.m.\, with special guest Laura Gehl. \n\n\n\nFunded by the Friends of the Library

DESCRIPTION:Abigail George Director of Enforcement and Investigations with Housing Opportunities Made Equal of Virginia will be the presenter. \nThe Fair Housing training course provides an overview of fair housing principles and laws\, beginning with the purpose of fair housing and the protections established under the federal Fair Housing Act and Virginia Fair Housing Law. The course covers what constitutes a housing transaction\, identifies federally and state-protected classes\, and explains how housing discrimination can occur. Participants will learn about disability-related protections such as reasonable accommodations\, reasonable modifications\, and service and emotional support animals\, as well as source of funds protections and emerging issues.
