DESCRIPTION:Design a bookmark around the theme “The Loudest Library.” The bookmark contest form is available here\, on the library website and at the Chinn Park Mini Library or Montclair Library. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe contest runs from January 2 to March 12\, 2026. \nThe bookmarks of the first-place winners (one for each grade\, K through 5) and the grand prize winner’s bookmark will be printed and available at the library in early summer.\nThe Grand Prize Winner will also receive an autographed copy of “Orson and the World’s Loudest Library” by local author Laura Gehl.\nPrizes will be awarded at the Talking to the Author presentation at Montclair Library on Saturday\, April 11th at 2:00 p.m.\, with special guest Laura Gehl. \n\n\n\nFunded by the Friends of the Library

DESCRIPTION:07:00 PM – 08:30\nVirtual Event\n\n\n\n\nChildhood experiences\, both positive and negative\, have a tremendous impact on future development\, lifelong health\, and opportunity. Learning more about Adverse Childhood Experiences\, referred to as ACEs\, is important to not only prevent this toxic stress from occurring within our community but also to better support individuals who experienced trauma in childhood. Join the Community Service’s Wellness and Prevention Team in learning more about the science of relationships and the healing power of hope and resilience. \nParticipants will be able to increase their knowledge of: \n1. The impacts of childhood adversity and developmental trauma on individuals and as a public health issue \n2. Identifying and addressing adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)\n3. The neurobiological effects of adversity on development\n4. How ACEs can impact an individual’s mental and physical health\n5.
