SUMMARY:Talking to the Author Bookmark Contest
DESCRIPTION:Design a bookmark around the theme “The Loudest Library.” The bookmark contest form is available here\, on the library website and at the Chinn Park Mini Library or Montclair Library. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe contest runs from January 2 to March 12\, 2026. \nThe bookmarks of the first-place winners (one for each grade\, K through 5) and the grand prize winner’s bookmark will be printed and available at the library in early summer.\nThe Grand Prize Winner will also receive an autographed copy of “Orson and the World’s Loudest Library” by local author Laura Gehl.\nPrizes will be awarded at the Talking to the Author presentation at Montclair Library on Saturday\, April 11th at 2:00 p.m.\, with special guest Laura Gehl. \n\n\n\nFunded by the Friends of the Library

DESCRIPTION:Are you brave enough to weather the February elements in support of a worthy cause? If so\, registration has opened for the 2026 Polar Plunge to benefit Special Olympics Virginia. This year’s event is at Leesylvania State Park\, 2001 Daniel K. Ludwig Dr.\, Woodbridge (22191) on Saturday\, Feb. 14\, 2026. \nThe Prince William County Police Department is looking for hardy individuals – or teams of family\, friends\, co-workers\, or organizations – willing to brave the cold temperatures on land\, and in the water\, to help raise money for Special Olympics. \nRegistration is open\, and the public can participate in several ways: \n\nTake the “Plunge\,” either as an individual or as a team that you put together with friends\, neighbors\, family or co-workers. Join Team PWCPD and start fundraising!\nDonate funds (if crazy\, fun action is not your thing).\nCome out and cheer everyone on.\n\nThere’ll be live music\, games\, door prizes\, food trucks\, law enforcement displays and more\, including a costume contest and\, of course\, a chilly plunge into the Potomac River! \nTo register as an individual or as a team for “Team PWCPD\,” and for more information\, please visit: https://impact.specialolympicsva.org/team/779369.
