Dumpsters will be set up at Bethel United Methodist Church\, from 10 am to 1 pm on Saturday\, April 10. We’ll also collect cleaned bottles and jars for glass recycling! Rollingwood Village will be conducting a community cleanup as well from 10am to 12:30 pm; click to learn more and volunteer. \nPlease note the following restricted items. No: \n\nFuel tanks or drums\nMotor oil\nHousehold hazardous waste (this includes paint thinners)\nElectronics – dispose of these at no charge\, at the landfill on Wednesdays and Saturdays\nAntifreeze\nPool chemicals\nConstruction material\n\nIf disposing of appliances\, please make sure they are cleaned and emptied\, to include removal of glass trays from microwaves. The project is a collaboration among Fairfax Water\, the Prince William County Service Authority and Virginia American Water. DESCRIPTION:Occoquan District Supervisor Boddye will be joining Town of Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta for the town’s third “Contact-free Food Drive\,” this Saturday May 16\, 10am-12pm! Your donations of nonperishable food items\, personal care products or gift cards will be given to The Good News Community Kitchen and ACTS to help those families who are hardest hit by the pandemic. In April\, your generous support DOUBLED their supplies! \nThe most-needed items are are jelly\, hot and cold cereal\, rice\, soup\, tomatoes (sauced/diced/crushed)\, and beans and vegetables (frozen/canned/bagged ). This event is set up to minimize risk to you and our volunteers. Drive to the end of Mill Street\, and either: \n\nPut bags on the ground near donation station\, then volunteers will retrieve your donation after you are back in your car.\nUnlock or pop your trunk\, and instruct volunteers to retrieve items.\n\nOur volunteers will also be masked and practicing appropriate physical distancing. If you wish to take a picture to help promote the drive\, please put on a mask before approaching the donation area and maintain at least 10 feet of distance from others. Better yet\, take a picture from the safety of your car\, demonstrating this novel way of giving in these unusual times.  \n \n  \n
