SUMMARY:DCSM/Zoning Ordinance Advisory Committee
DESCRIPTION:The DCSM/Zoning Ordinance Advisory Committee became active on July 1\, 2010 and is designed to ensure the impacts of independently modifying the Design and Construction Standards Manual (DCSM) and the Zoning Ordinance are considered in a deliberate and collaborative process. \nThe committee is comprised of 26 members including representatives from related industry organizations\, as well as citizens from each of the Prince William County magisterial districts\, and an at-large representative. The Planning Director and the Director of Development Services\, or their designees\, act as Co-Chairs to the DCSM/Zoning Ordinance Advisory Committee with the Planning Director\, or designee\, chairing the committee when discussing Zoning Ordinance Amendments\, and the Director of Development Services\, or designee\, chairing the committee when discussing DCSM amendments. \nThe committee meets as needed to review proposed zoning text amendments and DCSM amendments. \nMeetings are open to the public. \nNEXT PUBLIC MEETING\nJanuary 22\, 2026\, 2:00PM – 4:00PM \nDevelopment Services Building \n5 County Complex Ct. SUMMARY:Board of Zoning Appeals
DESCRIPTION:The Board of Zoning Appeals (BZA) is composed of seven regular members and three alternate members\, who are County residents\, appointed to staggered five-year terms by the Circuit Court. Members must hold no other public office; however one may be a member of the Planning Commission\, and any elected official of an incorporated town may serve on the board of the county in which the member also resides. Members may be reappointed. The Board of County Supervisors may make appointment recommendations. Member information. \nThe BZA reviews and decides appeals of zoning determinations and requests for variances to zoning provisions. See also Section 900 of the Zoning Ordinance in the County Code. \nThe BZA meets when an application for an appeal or a request for a variance has been submitted. Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month May through December and on the fourth Monday of each month January through April. If the scheduled meeting falls on a holiday\, the meeting will be held on the following Monday. \nMeetings begin at 2:00 p.m. and are normally held in the Board Chambers of the James J.
