Dumpster Day: Featuring Glass Recycling & “Too Good to Toss”

This Dumpster Day, save a trip to the landfill! Supervisor Boddye is partnering with Prince William County Public Works to make it convenient to dispose of old furniture, yard waste, and non-hazardous items, setting up dumpsters at the Lake Ridge Commuter Lot on Minnieville. We’ll also collect glass recycling (cleaned bottles and jars only), and B-Thrifty will accept items that are “too good to toss” through its Project B Green campaign. It’s a great time for a community cleanup — click here for tips on organizing one in your neighborhood.
Please note, we cannot accept the following items:
- Fuel tanks or drums
- Motor oil
- Household hazardous waste (this includes paint thinners)
- Electronics (dispose of these at the landfill on Wednesdays and Saturdays, free of charge)
- Antifreeze
- Pool chemicals
- Construction material
Appliances should be cleaned and emptied, including removing glass trays from microwaves. Doors should be sealed with tape. For more information on proper disposal, contact 703-792-5750.
