The Event – Helping the Helpers

“Music can change the world.” – Ludwig van Beethoven

Nonprofits like The TraRon Center and Youth for Tomorrow’s Girls on a Journey understand the healing power of art and use it to
help young people overcome trauma and find their voices. Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra and DC Strings Workshop have joined
forces to celebrate not only the return of live music, but also the good work of these charities.

Helping the Helpers: A Benefit Concert

Saturday, July 31st at 8:00 PM

at The Fabriek Center, 17650 Possum Point Road, Dumfries, Virginia.

The event will be emceed by Vice Chair Andrea Bailey, Potomac District Supervisor for the Prince
William Board of County Supervisors, and will include stirring works for orchestra and soprano, featuring the sumptuous vocals of soloist Fairouz Foty.

Proceeds of the event will benefit The TraRon Center and Girls on a Journey.

Doors and the cash bar open at 7:30 PM; the livestream link will be available at 7:45 PM. In-person concertgoers are invited to meet the musicians at a post-concert reception.

Seating for this intimate event is limited and advanced purchase is suggested.

Proceeds from this concert will benefit two charities that use art to heal:

Youth for Tomorrow’s Girls on a Journey Program offers trauma specific treatment, including music and art therapy, to survivors

The Artists

Old Bridge Chamber Orchestra is an all-volunteer nonprofit established in 1998 to expand the presence of large and small
ensemble performances in Prince William County and nearby jurisdictions. www.obco.org
DC Strings Workshop connects people to music through the presentation of concerts, recitals, and educational opportunities
throughout the DC metropolitan area, particularly underserved communities. www.dcstrings.org
Fairfouz Foty is a sought out full-lyric soprano whose “hauntingly beautiful” voice has been featured in embassies and the major
performance spaces in the DC metropolitan area. www.fairouzfoty.com
Vice Chair Andrea Bailey, Supervisor for the Potomac District of the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, has been a
military spouse for 23 years, a Christian leader and teacher for over 20 years, a corporate citizen for 20 years, a business owner
