African American Genealogy: Tracking Families Before the Civil War
February 25, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
RELIC’s Don Wilson will talk about African American Genealogy: Tracking Families Before the Civil War to show how to find information regarding an African American family’s history prior to 1865. There are special challenges to finding family documentation during the age of slavery since few records were kept. Wilson will use a case study approach to demonstrate how to identify resources that can be used to trace lives and relationships.
