The Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.,
Invites You to Celebrate Black History Month
For 36 years the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. has provided educational and cultural programming and public service to the community. As an African-American sorority, we think it is important that we have events that bring attention to the contributions African-American have made to our nation.
You are invited to join the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for a free, online Black History Month event. On Saturday, Feb. 6, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, nationally acclaimed artist, Mr. René Dickerson, will present a virtual artist talk of his first retrospective exhibit, hosted at the ARTfactory in Manassas, VA.
You can participate by clicking on this link: https://zoom.us/j/95189862893. During this online event, René will share several pieces of his original artwork, discuss his creative process and answer questions.
As a young child in the 1960’s, René’s father, an avid art lover, exposed him to artists in the San Francisco Bay Area. René has a self-taught, natural artistic ability that has developed to a masterful level. He paints characters from all cultures and scenes to express the richness of life.
René’s body of work spans more than four decades with various awards and accolades from the art world. His paintings have appeared in national award-winning exhibits. René uses acrylic on canvas in a masterful marriage of colors that reaches each person on a unique level.
His work is included in the collections of Thomas Moorhead, owner of BMW of Sterling, VA; Berry Gordy; Otis Williams and others. The ongoing visibility, popularity and demand for his art have enabled him to work with numerous organizations. According to René, “The life of an artist can be very fulfilling because an artist’s works can inspire future generations.”
Join us on online Feb. 6 from 11 a.m. to 12 noon to meet René, hear from him firsthand and experience his amazing artistic creations! And please share this information with your constituents.
