CPR – Basic Life Support Course, Blended

Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Red Cross is designed for healthcare providers and public safety professionals and meets a variety of certification and licensing requirements.

The 2021 Basic Life Support (BLS) course provides healthcare providers and public safety professionals the knowledge and skills necessary to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adult, child and infant patients. Consistent with the American Red Cross Focused Updates and Guidelines 2020, BLS is the foundational CPR/AED program typically required for healthcare providers and public safety professionals. Through the use of lecture, skills demonstration, practice and case-based emergency response scenarios with a focus on team-based response, BLS builds the key critical thinking, problem solving, and team dynamic skills that are needed to drive better patient outcomes. Upon successful completion of the course, learners will receive a 2-year Basic Life Support digital certificate with anytime, anywhere access to certificate and training history.The American Red Cross is an accredited provider of continuing education by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education. Please dress comfortable as skills are performed from the floor. Students are required by the American Red Cross to perform skills from the floor.

Blended Learning Classes REQUIRE the online training to be COMPLETE BEFORE the in-person class.  Students are responsible for obtaining the hyperlink to access the online training.  Allow yourself 2.5-3 hours to complete the online training. **Coronavirus Alert – If you are sick or have reason to believe you may have been exposed to COVID-19, please reschedule your training to avoid exposing classmates.  All students will be held to the Terms and Conditions relative to illness and transfers.  The updated guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)  has also been endorsed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)

Effective immediately, all students attending in-person training courses must wear a face mask regardless of their vaccination status to help protect everyone’s health and safety.

You are required to have the current textbook for this course. If you already own one or have access to one before, during, and after the class, you do not need to purchase one
