Dumpster Day: Spring Cleaning Made Easier
April 9, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

This Dumpster Day, save a trip to the landfill! Just in time for spring cleaning, Supervisor Boddye is partnering with Prince William County Public Works to make it convenient to dispose of old furniture, yard waste, and non-hazardous items by setting up dumpsters at Bethel United Methodist Church. We’ll also collect glass recycling. (Cleaned bottles and jars only; no windows, serving ware, cups, etc.)
Please note the following restricted items. We cannot accept:
- Fuel tanks or drums
- Motor oil
- Household hazardous waste (this includes paint thinners)
- Electronics – dispose of these at no charge, at the landfill on Wednesdays and Saturdays
- Antifreeze
- Pool chemicals
- Construction material
If disposing of appliances, please make sure they are cleaned and emptied, including removal of glass trays from microwaves. Doors should be sealed shut with tape. For more information on proper disposal, contact 703-792-5750. If you have items with life left in them, consider donating to a local thrift store, such as 2nd Avenue Thrift Store (which supports charities such as American Red Cross and Purple Heart Foundation and is located just across Smoketown from Bethel) or Habitat for Humanity Restore, which offers pickup of some large items.
