Executive Functions: What Are They & Why Are They Important?
with Erin Clemens, OTR/L, BCP, CIMI

This presentation will discuss the components of executive functions and their practicality to everyday life. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of how the areas are assessed, how to work with their child to improve executive function abilities, and strategies to assist with these functions at home and school.

Ms. Clemens has been a pediatric occupational therapist for 20 years and is the owner of Pediatric Achievements in Lake Ridge, providing occupational, physical, and speech therapy for infants and children from birth through age 21. Ms. Clemens is a past professor with the OTA program at Northern Virginia Community College, and is currently serving as President of the Virginia Occupational Therapy Association. She is also active on the board of PWC SEPTA (Special Education PTA).
