Free Online Revive Narcan Training

June 19, 2021 @ 9:30 am - 10:30 am

ONLINE REVIVE! NARCAN TRAINING

OPEN TO RESIDENTS OF PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY and CITIES OF MANASSAS and MANASSAS PARK

Overdoses can happen in unexpected situations and to anyone: a friend, a family member, a coworker, at home, outside, or in a public place. You may not know that someone is at risk of overdose- stigma prevents many who use drugs from telling others and physical distancing can create social isolation.

Do you know how to help someone who has overdosed on opioids?
Prince William Community Services is offering a free online class that will provide the knowledge and confidence you need to potentially save a life during an opioid overdose emergency.

During this 60-minute virtual class, presented by a qualified instructor from the Behavioral Health Wellness team, you will learn:
• How to recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose.
• How to administer Narcan nasal spray to potentially reverse the effects of an opioid overdose.
• Other knowledge needed to fully respond to an opioid overdose emergency (what to do and not do).

To access the online class, you will need a desktop, laptop, tablet computer, or cellphone equipped with a camera, microphone, and speakers. Registration will be confirmed via an email, which will contain course log-in instructions. Upon completion of the online training, participants will receive the REVIVE! kit (two CPR mouth barriers, vinyl gloves, stickers, instruction card) and/or no-cost naloxone. NOTE: Registration closes 2 hours before the session’s scheduled starting time. Trainings are limited to Prince William County and Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park residents only.
