Stonewall Rising: LGBTQ March for Black Lives

LGBTQ rights – our rights- were not given, they were demanded when two trans women of color threw a brick through the window of the Stonewall Inn in 1969.

We have seen progress in the years since then, but it hasn’t come because our community remained silent on the issues.

2020 has brought the LGBTQ community to a moment of reckoning around race and how our community was built with racism at its core.

Now is our moment to change that – To remember our roots and remember that the fight for Black Lives is a fight of our own. We invite LGBTQ folks and our allies from all backgrounds and identities to join us for this march.

Join VA Pride, Minority Vets, and other partners for Stonewall Rising: LGBTQ March for Black Lives as we flood the streets of Richmond to declare that Black Lives Matter and Black LGBTQ Lives Matter.
