If you knew a child needed clothing, would you help?
Boxes of Basics said, “YES!” and it’s making a big impact on the lives of local children.
Founded in 2018 by Prince William County resident Sarah Tyndall, this nonprofit helps children experiencing clothing insecurity gain a sense of dignity and self-worth by providing complete, personalized wardrobes, while protecting their privacy. From humble beginnings as a grassroots effort, Boxes of Basics now serves families in Prince William County, Manassas, Manassas Park and neighboring areas.
“A child was coming to school in the same worn, smelly clothes every day and was being bullied. When we received a Box of Basics, the family cried tears of joy.” – Local Teacher
This summer, our office was honored to make a donation of clothing by using Boxes of Basics’ Amazon Wishlist. We are now asking the community to come together and join us in supporting local children in need. Donations can take different forms:
- Monetary
- Amazon Wishlist
- Volunteerism
- Clothing Drives
- Sponsorships
- More!
Whether your donation is large, small or somewhere in between, everything makes a difference in the life of a child. Let’s make sure children are prepared and ready to hold their heads high when they walk back in to school this year!
