Regional Housing Equity Plan Needs Your Input

Regional Housing Equity Plan Needs Your Input

As part of their work connecting leaders, experts and officials across the greater Washington D.C. region to tackle important issues, the Council of Governments (COG) is working on a Regional Housing Equity Plan. The plan, also known as the Regional Analysis of Impediments (AI) to Fair Housing Choice, helps direct federal funds in ways to make housing more equitable and accessible to individuals and families no matter where they live or where they would like to live.

This historic coordination of area governments will impact numerous adjacent jurisdictions in the region to address common challenges of housing inequity together. The participating jurisdictions are:

  • City of Alexandria
  • Arlington County
  • District of Columbia
  • Fairfax County
  • Loudoun County
  • Montgomery County
  • Prince William County

To prepare this comprehensive plan we need your help to reach as many people as possible in the DMV who would like to play an important role in prioritizing goals and actions.

Residents in this region continue to face housing challenges. A regional plan to expand, improve and diversify housing choice can help everyone to prosper. The effort needs your input! Learn more about why this regional analysis is so valuable by watching this video.

In the near future, surveys, focus groups, and interviews will be conducted to establish measurable fair housing goals and priorities across the metropolitan area. Join in a free housing workshop, listed below, to help provide input, or in the meantime members of the public can email feedback to the Project Team at fairhousing@mwcog.org
