Tuesday, November 5, is the 2024 Election. Polls will be open 6 am-7 pm. This is your chance to shape our future as you cast a ballot for the President of the United States, U.S. Senate, U.S. House of Representatives, and a Proposed State Constitutional Amendment, which asks voters:
Should the Constitution of Virginia be amended so that the tax exemption that is currently available to the surviving spouses of soldiers killed in action is also available to the surviving spouses of soldiers who died in the line of duty? Read more on the VA Elections site.
Here are some important reminders to help make your voting experience smooth:
- Find Your Polling Place: Early voting satellite locations closed Saturday. Tomorrow, you must vote at your assigned polling location. Find it here.
- Registration Same-Day: If you missed the registration deadline, don’t worry! Head to your polling place with proper ID and ask for a Same-Day Registration and Provisional Ballot — this type of ballot gives officials extra time to verify voter eligibility before counting the vote.
- Bring the Right ID: Be sure to bring an acceptable form of ID. Check here to confirm what you’ll need.
- Know Your Rights as a Voter: View your rights as a voter in Virginia.
- Stay Comfortable: We expect high turnout. Please dress comfortably and consider bringing water and a light snack, just in case.
