Volunteers for the COVID-19 outbreak – Volunteer Prince William

As we all face these unusual circumstances we are surely adjusting our normal business practices. I have gotten a number of calls and emails regarding folks that would like to volunteer at this time. Many in our network have opted not to utilize their volunteer work force and not to take on new volunteers for obvious reasons. However, there are and will continue to be some volunteer opportunities to help others while we endure the COVID-19 outbreak.

If you are being contacted by potential volunteers and do not have something for them to do at your own agency/organization, please pass along this message:

Volunteer Prince William is designated by Prince William County and the Cities of Manassas and Manassas Park for providing coordination of unaffiliated volunteers during emergency declarations.  If you would like to be contacted to help during the COVID-19 outbreak, please register at www.VolunteerPrinceWilliam.org.

When you are completing your registration form be sure to check the box that asks if you wish to receive a disaster notification. If you are already registered in the Volunteer Prince William data base, please log in to update your user data to reflect you wish to receive a disaster notification. I will send emails out to that list with specific requests for volunteers and will include instructions on what to do if you are interested. It is a bit of a process and will include a liability waiver form.

Thanks for wanting to help!

Thanks to all of you for doing what you do, particularly in these uncertain times. You are awesome!
