Holidays Arrive in Town of Occoquan

Pull out those seasonal sweaters and bring the whole family to Town of Occoquan! From Nov. 22 to Dec. 12, 2025, Town of Occoquan will be decked out with holiday decor and offer activities in a community wide celebration. Here is some of what you will find:

Annual Town Tree Lighting

Saturday, Nov. 22, 5 to 9 pm: The annual tree lighting ceremony brings the community together for an unforgettable night featuring marshmallow roasting with fire pits, caroling, Tembo Mobile Coffee, Funnel Cake Café, and more! Local shops are open until 8 p.m. Meet up at 6 p.m. in front of Town Hall for the annual holiday tree lighting, and plan to come early or stay late to enjoy everything town has to offer! This event is a toasty way to enjoy the start of the holidays. Free shuttle service will be provided from the Old Bridge/Rt. 123 Commuter Lot. Drop off is at Mamie Davis Park (200 Washington Street).

Shop, Dine & Win! Contest

Nov. 22 to Dec. 7: Shop and dine at your favorite Town of Occoquan businesses for a chance to win $100 in local business gift cards! This is a great way to explore the town’s eclectic businesses that make Town of Occoquan so great. Show your support and shop local! Winners will be drawn Dec. 8.

Shop Small Weekend

Nov. 28 to 30: Whether it’s a jump start on shopping or you’re “wrapping up,” Town of Occoquan offers unique finds when you shop small. Local shops and businesses are bound to bring the holiday cheer to your shopping experience.

Holiday Artisan Market

Dec. 6 to 7: See the magic of historic Town of Occoquan come alive during the Holiday Artisan Market. Head to Union and Commerce Street to meet local artisans and find one-of-a-kind gifts. Take a break from shopping and warm up at the Fireside Corner in the center of the market.

Dec. 6 from 11:30 am to 2 pm: Santa will arrive by boat at the Town Dock and will sing  carols in the market area on his way to Town Hall to meet with kids one-on-one.

Spice things up by entering the annual Gingerbread Contest! Patrons will be voting for their favorite during both days of the market. For more information on entering visitoccoquanva.com/holiday.

Letters to Santa

Nov. 22 to Dec. 12: Drop your letter to Santa in the special North Pole mailbox at Town Hall (314 Mill Street). If you include a return address, Santa will send a personalized letter back!
