Progress continues on the long-awaited Occoquan Greenway, with limited tree clearing at the Hooes Run pump station (2502 Old Bridge Road) wrapping up this week. This is step one in increasing access to Trail Segment 6 with grading improvements and a 135-foot pedestrian bridge spanning the waterway.
The Greenway is both in progress AND ready to explore, with many segments already open to hikers and bikers. When complete, this 12-mile trail network will connect neighborhoods to nature from the County Complex all the way into the Town of Occoquan. A mix of paved and natural surface trails, sidewalk connections, and pedestrian bridges will take users across varied terrain that includes scenic views of the Occoquan Reservoir.
