You can help a senior neighbor in need!
The Prince William Area Agency on Aging (PWAAA) offers nutritious meals to older adults. All meals are freshly prepared at the County senior centers by a resident chef and contain one-third the recommended daily intake. Menus are reviewed by certified dieticians and vary every day.
Meals on Wheels are fresh meals delivered to the homes of older persons who are homebound. Emergency shelf stable meals provided in the event that hot meals cannot be delivered.
Volunteers Needed for Meals on Wheels
PWAAA is seeking volunteers to deliver meals to homebound *recipients.
Volunteer drivers deliver noontime meals Monday – Friday between 10 a.m. and Noon. (Meals are not delivered on weekends, holidays or during periods of inclement weather.) Daily routes take about 1.5 hours to complete. Commitment can vary depending upon the volunteer’s schedule from as few as one delivery every other week up to several deliveries each week.
Meals are prepared at two Senior Center locations from which volunteers can choose to deliver:
Woodbridge Senior Center, 13850 Church Hill Drive, Woodbridge Va. 22191
Manassas Senior Center, 9320 Mosby Street, Manassas, VA 20109.
Whether you have only a few hours one day a week or can volunteer every day, your assistance is much needed!
