8/7 & 8/21 Movies at the Pfitz (Occoquan District/Woodbridge) Come out for a night of fun with your family and friend at this pop-up drive in movie theater. Enjoy Saturday, Aug 7th: Captain America – The First Avenger & Saturday, Aug 21st: Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone. Gates open at 7 pm. Movies to start approx. 9 pm.
8/8 Neabsco Creek Penguin Paddling Tour Our Neabsco tour is a gem. Wildlife is abundant. Eagles, beavers, herons and all sorts of waterfowl can be seen on this tour. The adventure begins from a convenient launch on beautiful Neabsco Creek. Located just half an hour or forty-five minutes from DC, this paddling facility feels as though it is worlds away. The tour takes place adjacent to the wonderful Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge, Julie J. Metz Wetlands Bank, and Leesylvania State Park. Neabsco Creek is home to an abundant, diverse, and beautiful ecosystem. In this two hour-long paddle it is very common to see Bald Eagles, beavers, various fish, and other critters enjoying the pristine setting. Enjoy access via paddle power to areas that power boats cannot get to! Tours must have a minimum of six boats/boards to be conducted. Penguin Paddling Terms/Policies Apply.
8/21 African American History Trail Car Caravan Tour (Depart from Manassas) 9am-3pm | $10 per vehicle Join local historians on a daylong tour exploring the unique and powerful stories behind the African American history of Prince William County. We will travel the county stepping back in time from the 1800s to the 1960s and stopping at many special and sometimes forgotten sites, to learn about the lifestyle, challenges, and the power of education. Participants will drive around to the different stops in their own vehicles. Advanced Registration is required for space is limited. Departs from Ben Lomond Historic Site.
