Thank you to everybody who joined Occoquan District Supervisor Kenny Boddye for a listening session on potential improvements to the Old Bridge/123 Intersection. Your feedback is a vital part of this process!
This County-administered project has been working its way through the system for several years, and was included in the PWC 2019 Bond Referendum. In 2021, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) provided several concepts for our consideration as part of its STARS Study Program. These concepts raised concerns about local impacts, so PWC DOT took a step back to review public comments and work on revised concepts. During a Public Information Meeting (PIM) on September 20, 2023, PWC DOT will present new alternatives for public review and comment. Currently, the project is not funded, and remains in the early conceptual planning stages.
As discussed, VDOT is administering a separate project to improve the I95/Old Bridge Road interchange. While they are coordinating with PWC DOT, they are separate projects. At Supervisor Boddye’s request, VDOT will have a representative at the Sept. 20 PIM to address questions related to its project in this area, and is hosting its own PIM on Sept. 28.
