Supervisor Boddye Commendation Recogizes 4th Grader’s Social Entrepreneurialism

We recently talked about the Occoquan District’s youngest social entrepreneur, 9-year-old True Eden Sneed, who recently launched a company featuring homemade, all-natural beauty products based on family recipes. Last night, Supervisor Kenny Boddye invited True and her family to Board Chambers to officially present her with the commendation below, recognizing her endeavor and dedication to making the world a better place. We are all excited to see what is next for this Signal Hill 4th grader!


WHEREAS, True Eden Sneed is an Occoquan District resident, a social entrepreneur, and a 4th grader and honor roll student at Signal Hill Elementary School; and

WHEREAS, True is an avid horseback rider, dancer, and musician as well as a member of the Prince William County Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. and a “Dreamcatcher” with the In a Perfect World Foundation – a non-profit based in Los Angeles that develops attributes of leadership and service in youth; and

WHEREAS, on August 21st, 2021, True Eden and her family launched her first business endeavor, True Eden LLC, doing business as True Eden’s Shea Soufflé & Soapery E-Boutique, so that other girls can see what is possible and to contribute to the well-being of other girls and women; and

WHEREAS, True Eden’s business specializes in organic whipped body butter and hair oil based on family recipes passed down through generations and she developed the idea of marketing these products through an international partnership whereby women in Ghana source materials providing them a source of income; thus the success of her business will aid in the success of women in Ghana; and

WHEREAS, True Eden serves as the CEO of her company, which is also comprised of her two brothers Noah and Justice – who serve as the COO and CFO respectively – and her cousins Halo and Honor – who serve as Director of Social Media Strategy & Philanthropy and Chief Labeler; and

WHEREAS, collectively, True Eden and her team have taken entrepreneurship and financial literacy workshops, and are ready to learn how to become world-class leaders and build a business from the ground up; and

WHEREAS, the Resilient Economy Goal in the Prince William County 2021-2024 Strategic Plan states that we aim to “diversify, support, and expand the local economy to ensure equitable economic growth through innovative business/talent attraction, [and] promotion;” and

WHEREAS, True Eden desires to build an empire that empowers girls to become the bravest, strongest, most beautiful versions of themselves while lifting up the light in each other;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED on this day of 7th of September, 2021, the Office of Kenny Boddye, Occoquan District Supervisor, hereby commends True Eden Sneed for her entrepreneurial spirit, her passion for collaboration, and her commitment to making our community – and the world – a better place; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Office of Kenny Boddye, Occoquan District Supervisor, congratulates True Eden and her family on the establishment of True Eden’s Shea Soufflé & Soapery E-Boutique, and wishes them well in their new business venture.
